For the second year in a row, The City of Germantown has been awarded a Top Workplaces honor by The Commercial Appeal. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution and connection, just to name a few.

In addition, The City of Germantown was singled out for a special award, the Managers Award. This award is chosen based on employee comments concerning not just job satisfaction, but employee's appreciation of their managers. Out of the 60 impressive employers awarded a Top Workplace award; the City of Germantown employees expressed the most positive comments about management.

"We have worked hard to create a culture of kindness and an environment where our employees can learn, grow and have an opportunity for advancement," says City Administrator Patrick Lawton. "I am particularly appreciative of our employees here in Germantown, and I am consistently proud of their effort and performance on a daily basis. Excellence Everyday is not just our motto it is what we do."

To be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health," says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics, "and who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day-the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what's most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it's going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.
