Part of the joy of the Christmas season is the Memphis Christmas parades that take place throughout the metro area. Germantown residents and visitors enjoy family-friendly special events throughout the year, including the traditional Germantown holiday parade! Celebrate with family, friends, neighbors and community this Saturday, December 13th, 2014 from 2-3 p.m. The fun and excitement of the event includes decorated floats, horses, youth groups, car clubs, marching bands and an appearance by Santa Claus himself!

The parade begins at the corner of Kimbrough Road and Farmington Boulevard and ends at Germantown Athletic Club on Exeter Road. The parade is open to everyone and free of charge.

Fourth of July in Germantown!

Children ages 4-15 can try to real in the big one at the Germantown Lions Club Fishing Rodeo, at the Municipal Park Lake Wednesday, July 4, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. What a way to kick off the Fourth of July! Do not forget to bring your fishing pole and bait. Not only will you have a wonderful time fishing, but you will also be helping the Lions Club, since all proceeds will go to benefit their charitable work.

Later in the evening, around 5:00 p.m., July 4 make your way to Municipal Park on Exeter Road to enjoy fabulous musical entertainment, crafts, train rides, moon bounces, and free games. Whatever you do, do not miss the incredible Germantown fireworks extravaganza beginning at 9:10 p.m. You will not want to miss it. Germantown puts on a magnificent firework show and it is truly something to see!

Creatures of the Night: Nocturnal Animals at the Germantown Library!

Germantown TWRA Mid-South Junior Fishing Rodeo!

Take the kids fishing this Saturday, June 9 at Germantown's Johnson Road Park and let them enjoy the Germantown TWRA Mid-South Junior Fishing Rodeo. Children ranging from ages 6 to 12 will have a wonderful time fishing and competing for prizes. The Germantown Mid-South Junior Fishing Rodeo begins at 9:00 AM. Come early to claim a great spot around the lake. Participates are allowed only one fishing pole per person. Parents can assist in baiting or taking the fish off the hook. The rodeo is co-sponsored by MLGW.
