Easter Activities in Memphis TN!

Easter is coming! Here's a list of Easter-related activities in the area.

Saturday, March 31st


Easter Eggstravaganza

Cameron Brown Park (Germantown). Beginning at 10 am, the annual Easter Eggstravaganza features a free petting zoo, moon bounces and age divided egg hunts. Meet the Easter Bunny, find candy filled eggs and have an eggstravagant time. Don’t forget a basket and camera. Rain date is Tuesday, April 3rd.

Bunny Breakfast

Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Germantown), 9-11am. Enjoy breakfast with the Easter Bunny, pictures, egg hunts, games and more. Bring money for some great raffle items and a silent auction (Interim, Orchestra, spas, Little Gym, etc.). $6/ticket (ages 1 and up), 901-485-0474

Easter Egg Hunt & Basket Contest

9:30am, W.J. Freeman Park (Bartlett), egg hunt for ages 10 and under. Moonwalk, face painting, and crafts.

Dixon Easter Egg Hunt

10:30am - noon
Hunting begins promptly at 10:45am. The Easter Egg Hunt will take place on the back porch and South Lawn. Hunt will be moved to auditorium in case of rain. Members: $8; Non-Members: $10. Reservations required. Please call 761-5250. Limited Availability (100 kids)

Memphis Botanic Garden Family Egg Hunt

1-4 pm, members $6/non-members $8 ($10 at the gate), under 2 free (Special event admission does not include My Big Backyard). Age-specific hunts, eco-friendly crafts & activities, food, live music, and prizes for all ages. Find one of the special "Green Eggs" and take home a special environmental prize! Call 636-4100.

Easter Extravaganza

YMCA Schilling Farms (Collierville). Collect floating plastic eggs in the indoor pool. Times vary; 1:30pm for ages 3-5 (parent/guardian must accompany child in the water); 1:45pm for ages 6-9; 2pm for ages 10 and up. Don’t forget your basket. Free and open to the community.

Bunny Run 5K

9am, 5-kilometer run/walk around Audubon Park. Runners begin at 9am, walkers start immediately afterward. 1 mile Family Fun Run after race starts. Register online. Benefiting Special Kids & Families

Easter Eve Concert
Levitt Shell, 6pm, free. Drew & Ellie Holcomb acoustic performance sponsored by Independent Presbyterian Church.

Sunday, April 8th - Easter Sunday


Advent Presbyterian
Arlington. 10 am (between worship services) we will have an Easter Egg Hunt for children of all ages in lieu of Sunday School.

Community Easter Sunrise Service

Levitt Shell, 6:30am. Midtown churches join together at the Levitt Shell at 6:30 a.m. for a community Easter service. Rev. Ron Buck from Lindenwood will give a brief Easter message and special music will be provided by Greater Lewis Street Missionary Baptist Church choir and First Baptist Church's

It is Spring Break!  Have no fear – activities are here! If you are looking for something interesting happening March 10th – 18th check out some of the fun ideas we have found:

Go to a museum for free, or cheap.

Go see the Dinosaurs at the Memphis Zoo (an extra admission fee applies to both members and non-members)

IMAX Movies & Sharpe Planetarium Shows at the Pink Palace:

Watch the animal keepers feed the animals Tuesday through Friday at noon at the Lichterman Nature Center.

Go to the movies.

Enjoy the fresh air and go to the Park.

Pack snacks and bike the Greenline.

Go Downtown – Ride the trolley, visit the ducks at the Peabody, have lunch.

Your GREEN Tip of the Week
Energy efficient light bulbs last longer than incandescent bulbs, they cost less, and they're better for the environment. What's not to like? "Upfront cost is one of the most disconcerting things to consumers, and they're overwhelmingly confused by the assortment of the bulbs that are available," according to Adam Borut, co-founder and president of Eco Hatchery, an energy efficiency and sustainability software and services firm that developed a light bulb finder app. He says that switching to the new generation of light bulbs represents the easiest and fastest payback to consumers looking to save money and energy.
